I have a substantial amount of my dissertation completed and plan to finalize and defend the document as soon as possible.  The goal of this research is to develop a structured experiential and phenomenological approach to prehistoric landscapes through the linkage of Higuchi and archaeological indices utilizing geospatial technologies.

I have given a few presentations on related topics over the years including:

  1. “The Role of Higuchi Indexes in Landscape Archaeology: Linking experience and GIS for the Humanities” paper presented at the AAG Annual Conference with Trevor Harris, 2006.

  1. “Cognition, Higuchi indexes and Landscape Archaeology: Linking experience and GIS in the Humanities” paper presented at the SAA Annual Conference with Trevor Harris and Susan Bergeron, 2006.

  1. “The Higuchi approach to viewing landscape through GIS” paper presented at the AAG Annual Conference with Trevor Harris, 2005.

  1. “What is old is new again: the use of geospatial technologies for prehistoric landscape reconstruction” paper presented at the International Geographical Congress, 2004.

I will post more details as they become available.
